Keeping an eye on Brussels by working together
To achieve results in Europe, the European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE) was established. This European umbrella organization closely follows the legislative process in Brussels and tries to influence it. The Dutch Council for Refugees is one of the founders.
Active member of ECRE
ECRE consists of approximately 90 European NGOs working in the area of refugee protection. Because ECRE closely follows what is happening in Brussels, ECRE can try to influence European refugee legislation at an early stage. After all, European legislation will eventually be localised into Dutch law. It is therefore important to ensure that European legislation is as good as possible for refugees.
